You know that warm, fuzzy feeling you get inside when you walk around quaint old towns full of unique and wonderful shops selling those gorgeous items that you just need to have in your life? Well, take a walk down the Caversham Road and you can recreate that feeling right here in Reading.
epoch3 is a stockist of revamped furniture, jewellery and artwork, (among other things) – aka a treasure trove! Independent Reading caught up with one of the owners of epoch3, Tessa Turner to find out more about this gem…
What was it that inspired you to open the shop?
“I wanted the kind of shop that I wanted to shop in myself. My husband Russ had been revamping furniture for a few years and wanted an outlet for his work and I am passionate about bringing work from local producers to the folk of Reading!”
Tell us about some of the goodies you have in stock…
“We are the local stockists of the fabulous Frenchic furniture and wall paint – this is what we use ourselves for our painted furniture.
- Drawer knobs
- H by Maia handmade beauty products
- And… a locally handmade chandelier!”
What’s your favourite piece in the shop right now?
“It’s this gorgeous Ercol breakfast suite from c.1955-1965.”
Is there anything else we need to know before we head down?
“We have a parking spot right in front of the shop window, there’s also 30-minute free parking along Caversham Road or 2-hour parking in most of the side streets and next to the Crowne Plaza. (Plus, we’re a 10 minute walk from the station)
We also offer free local delivery for most things in the shop, including the paint!”
